Adding HTML Signature: iPhone and iPad Mail App Instructions

Email signatures are a great marketing opportunity. Not many people use them even though they're great for informing email recipients of what you are, what you offer, and what you represent. There are not a lot of places where it's appropriate to openly promote yourself without seeming pushy.

Adding one to your emails doesn't cost anything. Plus, every email client actually expects work emails to sign off in some way. So why not use something that works to your benefit as well?

The best part is that you don't have to go to your desktop to add signatures to your emails. If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you can do it just by tapping on the screen. That's assuming that you already have the HTML code for the signature, of course!

With EmailSign by Artlogo, you can create an HTML email signature easily and for free. But to heighten the impact that the signature brings to your personal brand, why not leave the signature creation process to the experts? For as little as $39,95, you can get a professional handwritten signature that you can use for emails, business cards, logos, and more.

How Do You Add an HTML Email Signature Using the Mobile Apple Mail App?

The steps outlined below are applicable to the iPhone email app. As a general rule, there's no need to click save to retain your progress.

If you want to add HTML email signatures from Mac, we have created a separate post for that.

Step 1: Open the iPhone email signature editor.

To do this, go to your iPhone Settings. Then, scroll down until you find the "Mail" tab. Tap it to continue with the process. In the Mail tab, scroll down until you find the "Signature" tab then tap that.

Step 2: Select the "Sent from my iPhone" default signature and delete it.

After you're done with all the steps, your chosen HTML email signature will appear in this signature section instead. Therefore, your email clients won't know where you sent your message from.

Step 3: Copy the HTML code generated from EmailSign for iPhone / iPad.

Our free email signature generator also works with Mac Mail. Make sure not to select that by accident. If you're using different software, follow the instructions they've provided for getting the code for your HTML signature.

Step 4: Paste the copied HTML into the text box.

Once you've done that, you should see a preview of what your new signature will look like. Don't mind the formatting issue for now.

Step 5: Remove unwanted formatting for your new email signature

Your email signature may look different after pasting the HTML. No worries! Before saving new settings, shake your iPhone or iPad to use the popup menu "Undo Change Attributes". When it appears, click "Undo" to revert to the original formatting and remove any formatting that your iOS device made.

Step 6: Set which account you would like your email signature to show in.

Depending on your preference, you can have the edit applied to all accounts or a specific one. This is very important because you don't want to accidentally use your company name (and email!) when you inquire about personal matters.

Step 7: Open a new email to check your new email signature.

You may also want to see how your future messages with your HTML signature will look in a different app like Gmail or in desktop mode. Try sending a test email before sending a real one to an email client.

Adding HTML Signatures from Your iPhone Email App Is the Next Power Move!

And with how easy it is to tap signature changes, there's no reason not to give it a chance. As you'll see, it's not just the signature per se that you put there.

You can also include contact details, social media icons, and other relevant info to help boost your brand identity. Think of it as a promotional banner that isn't spammy!

If you're having a hard time with the creative process, EmailSign lets you use an email signature template for free. For the signature itself, why not leave it to experts? Artlogo can design a personalized signature for you at an affordable rate.
